Features to know about

Clean Front End When You’re Not Towing: Hidden Reinforcement, No Crossbar

This setup keeps things simple and neat up front. With no external crossbar and hidden reinforcement, only the base plate tabs are visible. That means no bulky brackets or beams sticking out when you’re not towing, just a clean, low-profile look that stays out of the way and keeps the vehicle’s lines looking right.

Straightforward Job for DIYers: Bolt-On Install with Included Hardware

Fairly straightforward installation—you can get it done solo without welding. The kit bolts directly to the chassis and includes instructions, mounting hardware, and an electrical bracket for a round plug. It’s designed for a simple, secure fit that comes together cleanly with basic tools.

Strong and Reliable for the Long Haul: Durable Steel Construction

This base plate is built from sturdy steel that spreads towing forces evenly to help minimize stress on the suspension. The design makes for a dependable connection point that holds steady through miles of towing. When you’re setting up for your next trip, this is the kind of solid build that gives you confidence on the road.

Keep the Tow Bar You Already Have: Wide Compatibility and Adapters Available

If you already own a tow bar setup you like, you don’t have to replace it. This base plate works with all etrailer tow bars and Demco Victory Series tow bars right out of the box. It can also be adapted for use with other brands—like Roadmaster or Blue Ox—using adapters e98979 through e98984 (sold separately). That flexibility helps you reuse your gear and keep your setup consistent over time.

Sized Right for Planning Your Setup: Precise Mounting Dimensions

The brackets sit 22-1/4" apart with a bracket height of 14-3/4". Those measurements make it easier to plan alignment with your tow bar and accessories before you start mounting, so everything lines up smoothly from the first hook-up.

by:

Excellent service came exactly when they said it was

by:

Had a bit of of issue with getting the front valance to fit back on car. The tow bar should have been a 1/2 to 3/4” lower to fit in the air vent opening, I may have to cut the valance itself to get it back down to where it will fit correctly, I am still playing with it

by:

During installation we experienced some issues with part alignment between the base plate and bumper assembly causing the facia the to need trim back the facia all the way to the painted section. The hood and facia fit is tight.

love it! It's an excellent fit for our 2003 Jeep!

Great bar for the money. Instructions were fairly easy to follow but at time they did not make sense logically. In the final step lining up the grill was confusing I had to improvise to make it work.

The finished product is great! The reason for the three-star rating is because the mounting holes didn't line up with the holes on the frame of the 2004 Jeep Liberty. The host came out a quarter inch off. After drilling the third hole according to the instructions I put all three bolts in the nut plate and made sure that all three bolts will fit in the holes easily. I then got one bolt started on one side and then found out it was completely off by quarter inch on the other side. With 0 wiggle room I put all three bolts in loosely on one side and manage to use vise grips to clamp up the other side so I can drill out the holes. I was then able to get the bolts in on the other side. Aside from the fasteners for the bumper cover being different and more difficult from the directions and not being able to disconnect the wiring harness I figure it could have been worse. At least in the end nobody will know the difference. See photos. It sure was a blessing to be able to get it so quick.

This is a really good base plate for my 2011 ford fiesta. I have installed several base plates on different cars. Installing this base plate was easier than most. Watch a YouTube video I’m not good with paper directions. The only problem I had was the threads weren’t chased to clean the paint from the threads. Ford uses several different size bolts (7mm,8mm,10mm and 12mm and a universal is handy).overall I really like this base plate because it doesn’t have the removable front pins that could be stolen when not hitched up.

  • Parts Needed to Flat Tow 2017 GMC Terrain with 2023 Jayco Precept 36A
Hey Tom! I would be happy to help you get the parts you need to flat tow your 2017 GMC Terrain. Demco does make some great products for a really nice setup. The best part about that is they also make our etrailer line of base plate kits and tow bars so you can get the same quality and save some money. You will need a base plate kit, tow bar, safety cables, wiring, and a supplemental brake system. I recommend the following: -etrailer Classic Base Plate Kit - Fixed Arms # e98964 -etrailer...

  • Does 2017 Chevy Equinox Need Brake Light Relay When Being Flat Towed
Your 2017 Chevy Equinox does not need a brake-light relay when it is being flat towed because it has a separate lighting system (brakes and turn signals are different lights instead of the same one). There are a number of parts you do need to flat tow your '17 Equinox, however, which I'll list for you. - Base Plate Kit: etrailer Classic Base Plate Kit # e98964 - Tow Bar: etrailer SD Non-Binding Tow Bar # e34ZR - Wiring Kit: Roadmaster Diode 7-Wire to 6-Wire Flexo-Coil Wiring Kit # RM-15267 -...
