Already own a tow bar from another manufacturer? You can keep using it. This base plate is compatible with all Demco tow bars and can connect to other brands when paired with the right adapter (sold separately). An electrical bracket is built in so you can easily mount a round plug connector up front for a tidy wiring setup.
For weekend installers, this kit keeps things simple. Everything bolts securely into existing mounting points with no welding required. Clear instructions and all necessary hardware are included, so it’s ready for an at-home project that ends with a solid, confidence-inspiring towing connection.

After a year, baseplate works great. Changed tow bar to a non-ball type. No baseplate connection issues.

Hi Don. Per Demco, the # DM9518010 is a fit for the 1998 Jeep Cherokee, unless it has the front skid plate removed or if it's equipped with the up-country suspension or Tow hook pkg.
