When you’re not towing, the front of your vehicle stays clean and uncluttered. This base plate’s low-profile reinforcements are mostly hidden, leaving only the attachment tabs visible. It bolts directly to the chassis, so there’s no bulky crossbar in view—just a neat, factory-looking setup ready for the next trip.
The fixed draw bar design keeps things simple and dependable. Sturdy lugs pair with Blue Ox tow bars to form a secure and reliable connection that stays true mile after mile. The towing force is spread evenly across the frame to help prevent stress on your suspension and maintain stability when you’re on the road.
You can count on this setup for long hauls thanks to its durable steel construction. The powder-coated finish resists rust and corrosion, keeping the base plate looking good and performing strong through changing weather and road conditions.
There’s no welding required here. The base plate bolts securely to your vehicle’s chassis using the included mounting hardware, making installation straightforward for a handy DIYer or a shop tech alike. With a bracket distance of 24" and a bracket height of 14", you’ll have solid reference points for aligning the rest of your flat-towing setup.
Already have a tow bar you prefer? This base plate is adaptable for use with Roadmaster tow bars using adapter RM-031 or RM-031-5?(sold separately) and with Demco tow bars using adapter DM9523041?(sold separately). That flexibility makes it easy to keep your existing gear while setting up a reliable connection for flat towing.

Glad the install went smoothly, Grant! Even with those weird handle nuts (which I agree are kind of odd). What's the first trip you have planned? And I will let Alex know what you said as well! : )

it still looks nice and working as it should. i made it also double as a base to bolt up my winch. the bonus thing is when i need to tow it i can undo 4 bolts and take my winch off. i think you guys at e-trailer should consider making something like this as a option. i have pictures of it installed but how do i send them to you?

Thanks for your review, Richard! It sounds like this was a fairly involved installation, but we're glad to hear everything came together successfully in the end. We appreciate you sharing the details of your process, especially the tips about the tight frame rail clearance and drilling challenges, as those insights may help other RV owners tackling the same project. Thanks for including the photo as well. Your finished installation looks great! Now that it's installed and you're moving on to the diode kit and brake away switch, what adventure are you looking forward to most this summer in your RV?
