Are you tired of carrying a bulky ring of keys - for your hitch lock and coupler lock, your pickup cover or trailer door, and all the various padlocks securing your equipment? Tired of fumbling for the right key or having to replace a lost key?
BOLT (Breakthrough One-key Lock Technology) has solved that problem by designing a line of locks that can operate with a key you already have handy - your vehicle ignition key.
When you insert your own key into the cylinder, spring-loaded plate tumblers move up and down until they are matched exactly to that key. The first time the key is rotated, the cylinder is uniquely coded to that key. When the key is removed, the cylinder moves into the locked position. When the key is turned again, it will rotate to the unlocked position.
BOLT is particularly useful in commercial applications. Imagine being able to send a crew without having to sign out multiple keys for a work truck, trailer, hitch pins, and equipment locks. With BOLT, the vehicle key becomes a master key. It opens all those locks and you no longer have the hassle of getting to a work site only to find that you've brought the wrong keys.

Easy peasy. I’ve got a 2022 3500 HD Silverado with the key that pulls out of the remote. Stuck it in the locks, turned clockwise and done! I checked out these locks on Amazon and each part number said it wouldn’t fit my truck. I knew if I bought them from e-trailer and had a problem, I would get the customer service that I needed. The price difference was negligible ( Amazon was $2 more) and shipping was free over $100. No contest! Oh, I had emails through the whole process telling me where everything was at, and an email that said it was delivered! Can we say great customer service!

I love BOLT locks, the only locks I use for trailering. I have the padlocks for trailer doors; then I also use hitch and coupler pin locks from BOLT.
I truly value using my truck key for locks rather than having 3+ sets of keys for individual sets of locks!
Marking this a 4 (vs. 5) star because the padlocks can be a bit finicky when trying to close them; this is nothing Earth-shattering, but there is always room for improvement.

It’s a great lock. Using the spare back up key for my vehicle, I was able to set the lock to open with that key. The only reason I don’t give it five stars is the shackle is extraordinarily heavy. That’s a good thing because it means it’s stronger, but unfortunately it’s so thick. I can’t use it on some of the things I’d like to use it on otherwise it’s been a great luck. .

2007 GMC Yukon
Great trailer equipment. One key for everything instead of multiple keys for the hitch, coupler, and tool box(es). Just gave our 07 Yukon to family with my first set of BOLT locks. Had to have another set for the new Yukon.

Carrying a handful of keys for your trailer is a pita... One year later, I'm still loving these locks... Not only am I down to one key for the trailer, but one key for everything! I'd never buy another lock except for a bolt. A lil more money but worth every penny in the hassle it saved!

Bolt fanboy bias. User of the Bolt receiver and hitch coupler lock. Relatively expensive padlock. Price for the convenience of single key operation for all the locking mechanisms used on the truck and trailers.
The lock seems to be a solid design. Both shackle arms lock into place. Firm connection. The indents in the shackle arms are ~1/4” below the top surface of the lock body when locked. Length of shackle is imho a good compromise. Full 1.5” x 1” space within the widest points of the shackle. Gated key slot to reduce dust and moisture entry.
Look at all locks as preventive. Reduce the temptation of those with sticky fingers. More as a deterrents to thieves. A serious semi-intellegent low life will not be stopped by any lock. Bolt meets the need with the convenience of single key use.

I absolutely love these locks!! I've had them for my last truck and just recently bought a whole new complete kit for my new truck and trailers. IMO the greatest thing invented to make trailer and travel life easier... Don't be afraid of the price- they're well worth it! You'll see!!!

Product shipped and received in time frame promised. Easy to program however a little difficult to lock after programming. Over all good product just the problem of getting to lock easily kept me from giving it 5 stars.

- Sears X-Cargo Roof Carrier Latch and Lock FitThe top portion of your latch should be on the outside of your shell and not the inside. It looks like the parts were likely dismantled for cleaning or painting and were reinstalled incorrectly. We do offer some great BOLT Covered Padlocks like the # BL7023537 (GM Center Cut Key) which will key to your specific vehicle key. This will make it easier to always have the correct key and not having to worry about losing your other keys.
