Michael: Hi there. I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today, we're going to take a look at the Taylor Made Bimini top horizontal deck hinge. This deck hinge is designed to mount on the gunwale of your boat and connect to the Bimini top support pole. As you can see, it is a 90 degree hinge. So the sides here are not going to be coming out at any sort of angle.
They are going to be straight up and down so you can have your Bimini pole supported vertically. It is made out of stainless steel. So it's going to be corrosion resistant, which is very important when you're out on your boat.I'll give you a few measurements here. It is about two-and-three-sixteenths inches long by about 11-sixteenths inches wide. Keep in mind your screw head does stick out a little bit farther.
That's going to be about seven-eighths of an inch for your screw for your total width. Then it sits about an inch and seven-eighths inch tall.Now, this does not come with your mounting hardware to get this mounted onto your gunwale, nor does it come with the eye end for your Bimini pole. I'm going to use an eye end four seven-eights inch poles. You can find that here at etrailer.com using part number three six nine one one two zero six. You're going to get your holes lined up and then re-insert your screw.
Screw it down. And that'll give you your support for your Bimini pool. You'll be able to move it at a hinge, and it's going to have that mounting onto your gunwale to support it.Now, these hinges are sold individually, but you can buy as many as you need for whatever your purpose may be. I like the design, as it allows mounting on the inner gunnal ledge where the boat windows slant inward. With the angled nature of this product, the bimini frame arms can easily reach and fit to it.
