Specs:
This unique mount from Gen-Y Hitch includes a ball mount that can be easily positioned in one of the 4 stacked receivers that sits along the vertical shank of the unit. This dual-ball mount lets you tow a trailer with a 2" ball coupler or a 2-5/16" ball coupler.
Also included is a pintle lock, which can be inserted into the receiver directly above the ball mount to create a pintle hitch for hooking up a trailer with a lunette ring. Unlike other adjustable pintle hooks on the market, there are no nuts and bolts to remove and retorque when you change the positioning of this hitch. Just move the ball mount and pintle lock up or down to get the proper height and secure them in place with the included pins.

Hello, everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a look at the Gen-Y Adjustable 2-Ball Mount with the pintle lock. Has a drop and a rise for a three inch hitch, and has a 32,000 pound gross towing weight capacity. Now, this adjustable ball mount will let you hook up your trailer to your tow vehicle. The shank portion right here is what'll slide into a three inch hitch receiver on your vehicle. And it does require a hitch pin and a clip or a hitch lock for securing it to that hitch receiver, and those items we do sell separately.
The hitch pin hole diameters, you can see there's two of them, one is a 5/8 of an inch, the other's a 3/4 inch. Normally, on the three inch size hitch receivers, they do use the larger 3/4 inch pin, but again, those are sold separately. Up front here, you'll notice, has the two inch diameter ball and a 2 5/16 inch diameter ball. These will provide the connection points for a regular trailer coupler. But what's also included is this pintle lock accessory.
And what this is nice is be used if you're gonna tow a trailer that has a lunette ring on it. Basically, what the lunette ring does is it's designed to slide over the larger 2 5/16 ball, and it provides a secure connection with that lunette ring by using this lock to hold the lunette ring into place. Basically, what you'll do is take out your pin, and then just slide this lock back out of the way. And in your lunette ring, which is a large ring, will drop over the ball. Once it drops over there, you wanna keep it from coming off the ball, so you can lock it into place by sliding this pintle lock accessory all the way out over the ring.
Line the hole up, put the pin back through, clip it into place. And just like that, it's locked, and it keeps that lunette ring from coming off your ball. Now, if you're not gonna use it on a lunette ring coupler, just a regular coupler, you can just remove your clip, slide the pin out, slide it back, and there's a second hole that this will line up with. Once you line it up to that second hole, lock it into place. And what that'll allow you to do, it'll keep that out of the way, so you can just use a regular coupler on the ball, so it'll just hold it into place.
Now, the capacity on this is gonna be determined by what ball size you use. If you use the smaller two inch diameter ball, it's gonna have a gross towing weight capacity of 16,000 pounds, maximum tongue weight of 1,500 pounds. If you're gonna use the larger 2 5/16 diameter ball, gross towing weight capacity will be 32,000 pounds, maximum tongue weight of 3,500 pounds. If you noticed, it gives you the four stack 2 1/2 inch size receivers. It'll accept the included ball mount and the pintle lock like we showed you, as well as other hitch-mounted accessories that Gen-Y does sell and we do sell separately on our website. It does come with the two 3/4 inch diameter pins and clips, they are stainless steel pins and clips. And just to show you now, we also wanna mention the twist clip that they offer, which is unique to Gen-Y. It's not just your standard straight pins that you got that sometimes takes a hard effort to pull out or push in. These, you just twist, and they come right off, very simple. And then you slide your pin out, you'll do the same down here. And I just wanna show you, we mentioned these are 3/4 inch size stainless steel pins and clips. They will hold up over a lot of use. And then you just slide it into place, clip it. And it's very easy to clip, just push it, twist it into place, and you're ready to go. The adjustable height on this ball mount will let you tow trailers of different heights with the same vehicle. The ball mount can be lowered or raised to match your application. You can flip it around as we talked about to use whatever ball size you need. The maximum drop it'll get you, so if you put this in the lowest receiver right down here, and then measure from the top of this shank to the top of the ball platform when it's down here, it's gonna get you a maximum drop of six inches. If you put this up in the highest receiver right up here, and then install, it'll get you a maximum rise of three inches. This is a heavy-duty steel construction, uses a zinc primer and a powder coat finish to resist corrosion. It is SAE J684 certified, it is made in the USA. And as we mentioned, it is designed to fit three inch by three inch trailer hitch receivers. One note I do wanna mention is this ball mount has many different dimensions to it, so I'll recommend for you to go to the product page of this part to verify any dimension that might be needed for your application. (Jeff coughing) But that's gonna do it for the review on this Gen-Y Adjustable 2-Ball Mount with the pintle lock, and a drop and a rise for your three inch hitch.
