Hi everyone. It's Evangeline here at etrailer. And today, we'll be taking a look at our replacement two-inch shank for your Swagman two-inch bike racks right here at etrailer. So, there might be some reasons you're looking for a replacement shank right now. One could be maybe this is broken, warped, cracked for some reason or another. Another reason could be the hitch pin hole on your current bike rack is either cross threaded or stripped.
If any of those, for any of those reasons you might be looking for a replacement shank, well, this might be the one for you. This is gonna be an exact replacement for some of your Swagman bike racks. So, not all of them. If you're not sure if this is gonna fit for your bike rack, please check out our product page for a updated list of those bike racks. Another thing is sometimes your bike racks are in gray, sometimes they're in black.
This is gonna work for both of them. It's gonna work the exact same way. So, this shank is 19 5/8 inches long, and you have three different holes here. So, one is gonna be a threaded hitch pin hole. This matches your Swagman anti-rattle bolt.
And then you have two other holes here. So, these are non-threaded but they are used to secure your shank to the rest of the bike rack. So, like right here, I have the Swagman E-Spec. You can see right where it replaces. But I also have a Swagman Escapee bike rack where I cross threaded the hitch pin hole.
So, let's take a look at the replacement for that. So, to replace your shank, you first need to take it off of the mast assembly. So, we have 3/4 inch bolts and nuts, so make sure to use two wrenches for that. And then once you have that nut off, you can then take off that bolt and then you can take off this top assembly. And now, you have just the shank. So, here we have our replacement shank. So, we're just gonna take out the old one, pop in the new one, and then reinstall the rest of the bike rack. Just like that, you've replaced your shank. You can do this with your Escapee, your Swagman E-Spec. You might have different colors though, but that's gonna be okay since everything's gonna be working the same way. So, if you manage to damage, break, or somehow lose the shank on your Swagman bike rack and you're looking for an exact replacement, this is going to be the one. If you did cross thread your hitch pin hole though, you may need to also consider getting another replacement anti-rattle bolt. You can get one with a lock right here and find both of those here at etrailer.com. And that was a look right here at our replacement shank for your Swagman two-inch bike racks here at etrailer. My name is Evangeline and I hope this helped you out..
