Add another Redarc solar panel to your portable solar system to increase your charging power and extend your off-grid campout. Multiple-panel solar arrays are most efficient when you use panels with the same wattage, so we recommend adding this to a system with other 120-watt panels. Be mindful of the amperage and wattage limitations of your solar charge controller, as exceeding those limits may cause the solar array to not function.

Wiring panels together

Redarc offers multiple options for connecting multiple panels. It's important to understand what effect they will have. If you are unsure of what would work best for you, you should consult an electrician or dealer for professional advice and installation.

Three options for wiring Redarc solar panels together

Redarc offers Anderson connectors to wire panels in series (RED53VR) or parallel (RED59VR). By wiring your panels in series, you will increase the total panel voltage output. By wiring your panels in parallel, you increase the total amperage. In both cases, you get increased battery charging power going to your solar charge controller. If you increase your total voltage or amperage beyond what your charge controller can handle, it will not function properly. In solar arrays of 4 or 6 panels, you can wire half in series and half in parallel, so neither the volts nor amps exceed your controller's limitations. By being mindful of these options, it can save you the pain of having to buy a more expensive solar charge controller that can handle the increased input.

Heavy-Duty Carrying Case

The durable, padded carrying case has a soft interior to help protect your panel during storage and transport. An opening at the top allows you to carry the panel with the integrated handles attached to the panel. You can also conveniently stash your cables in the zippered pocket on the back.

Video Transcript for Review of Redarc RV Solar Panels - Portable Solar Kit - RED76VR

Hello everybody, this is [email protected]. Today, we're gonna take a look at this REDARC 120-Watt, portable, mono-crystalline solar panel. Now, this panel will come folded in this nice nylon bag for easy transport and storage; and then all you have to do is just zip it open on one side, and zip it open on the other side, and you can open the bag up and then remove your panel just like that. We'll put our bag back down here. But you can see basically what happens is this panel will unfold; and once you unfold it, it'll reveal these adjustable folding legs for support. They're clipped on right here.

You can just put them in place, open them up just like that, unclip them; and then once you have them open, you can see that you can angle your solar panel just like that. This is a nice, portable, 120-Watt solar panel. It does use the sunlight to charge your batteries. It is designed for portable use with your RV, your van, or anywhere else you'll need solar power. What's nice is if you're traveling a few times a year and your priorities are ease of use, value, flexibility, this nice, portable, folding solar panel's a great option.

This is the next generation folding panel that'll offer a nice, small, ultra-lightweight solution, makes them quick and easy to set up and pack down. What's nice about them: they're about 50% lighter than other popular panels that are on the market. This one totally only weighs about 21 pounds. Now this one is available in the 120-Watt. There is also an option for a 200-Watt one.

We do sell that separately on our website. And what's nice is, due to their portability, they're very quick to move around so you can make the most of any patchy spot sunlight. Just pick it up and move it where you need to. Now this is a mono-crystalline solar panel, has the highest efficiency rates, typically in the 15 to 20% range. And those high efficiency rates mean that it'll produce more power per square foot; and therefore it's very space efficient.

This portable one uses a nice ETFE coating, which will protect the solar cells from any damage; it'll withstand high temperatures; and it'll also allow maximum amount of solar energy to penetrate the cells. I did want to show you again on the very back here. Let me go ahead and lower that down. Put our -. snap our legs back down. But right here you can see are the junction boxes; and it uses the Anderson connector, which provides a nice, easy plug-and-play setup. See if I get zoom in a little bit. There's your Anderson connector. Now this will work with the REDARC solar charge control works. It will work with the REDARC dual import ECBC chargers; and it works with the REDARC manager 30-battery management system. A few dimensions on this: in the open position, like it is now, fully open, length is going to be about 40 and 9/16 inches lengthwise, widthwise about 28 and 1/8 inches. And as you can see, it's very thin. It's only about one inch tall. Now, if we put it in the closed position, we close it just like that. Closed position, it's still gonna have the 28 and 1/8 inches wide. The length on it: it's gonna be 20 and a quarter inches. And together it's about two inches tall. And again, you can see how it just folds and sort of has a magnetic connection here on the handle that, when you close it - whoops, get our cord out of there, you can see that that'll hold it in place - comes with this nice strong nylon-padded case for nice, easy transport and storage, has the built-in handle. Let me just show you again. So when you drop it in there and you zipper it closed, that built-in handle -.close it just like that for transporting it. Whoops, there we go. And you can see that built-in handle on the panel gives you a nice place to carry it around. Also in the very back, has a nice zippered pouch here, which you can put all your cables or connectors in there and take it all with you. A few specs on this: the rated peak power is 120 Watts total. So it's two panels by 60 Watts each, so it gives you the 120 Watts total. Maximum system voltage: 600 volts DC. Maximum power current is six amps. Maximum power voltage: 20 volts. And the operating temperature on this suitable operating temperature range is going to be about negative 40 degrees Fahrenheit to 185 degrees Fahrenheit. It does include this nice user's guide that'll describe how this operates and how you'll make your connections. But using that Anderson connector, it's pretty simple. It's just a plug-and-play setup. But that should do it for the review on this REDARC 120-Watt, portable, mono-crystalline solar panel..

  • Can Redarc 200 Watt Solar Panel be Used With RV Pre-Wired With Go Power Solar
Yes, you can use the Redarc 200 watt solar panel with your RV that is pre-wired for solar, but you would not be able to use just the Solar Panel # RED86VR. Solar panels require a charge controller to regulate the battery charge so you would need to get the panel and the controller in one, with the following part number: - Redarc Portable Solar Panel with Solar Charge Controller - 200 Watt Solar Panel # RED75VR The # RED75VR will work with a pre-wired RV, but you will need an adapter for...
