High-Efficiency, Monocrystalline Solar Panel

solar cells

The silicon cells are set between a cushioned backing material and tempered solar glass to withstand the elements. The glass has low-iron content to provide exceptional transparency, which ensures maximum sunlight collection. The panel is framed with anodized marine-grade aluminum to resist rust and corrosion. And in optimal sunlight conditions, the panel produces 100 watts per hour.

Easy Connection to Go Power Solar Charging Systems

mc4 connectors

This kit is compatible with several Go Power Solar Charging Systems (sold separately). However, the total amount of amps generated by the panels cannot exceed your solar controller's maximum amperage. The solar panel installs anywhere on your RV roof with included mounting feet and hardware. To maximize sunlight collection, it is important to install the panel where it avoids shadows cast by objects, like an air conditioner or vent. The panel is wired in parallel to another panel using MC4 branch connectors.

Video Transcript for Review of Go Power 190-Watt RV Solar Panel Expansion - GP47MR

Hi there, I'm Michael with Today, we're gonna take a quick look at this Go Power Rigid Eclipse expansion kit. This kit is going to come with everything that you need to increase the power output for your Go Power solar charging system so that you can charge your RV's 12 volt or 24 volt battery system more quickly. This kit will include this 190 watt mono crystalline solar panel. It's also going to include these MC4 branch connectors so that you can plug in the new solar panel, as well as your original and get that run into your system. As well as the mounting hardware that you're gonna need.

Now, one thing, a couple things that this kit does not include is going to be your butyl tape and self leveling sealant that you'll want anytime you put holes in your RV's roof. To make sure that water doesn't get in there. So other than that, this is gonna include everything to get this panel mounted in place and connected into your system. This is going to be lightweight yet very durable solar panel. It's made from waterproof and impact resistant materials.

And being that mono crystalline construction, it is going to be the most efficient solar conversion available on the market currently. This does only weigh about 26 pounds, just a little over 26 pounds. And so it's not gonna put a whole lot of strain on your RV's roof. It should be pretty easy to get installed. It is 29...

Sorry, 59 inches long by 26 and a quarter of an inch wide, and only about one and a half inches thick. If I turn this around for you, you'll be able to see the backside which is where our MC4 cables are. So you can see these cables are gonna be fairly short. So depending on how you want to get this mounted, it might be a good idea to get some MC4 cable extensions. We do sell those separately, but it might give you some more options on how you can get this mounted.

But very easy to plug these cables into those connectors and get both panels plugged into your system so that you're getting the power drawn from both put into your batteries to get them charged up that much faster. This is of course rated at 190 watts. It's gonna give us an amperage of about 9.45 amps. So it is gonna be a good addition to your solar system that you already have in place. So that's gonna complete our look for today. Again, I'm Michael with Thanks for watching..

  • Availability of Go Power Rigid Eclipse 190 Watt Solar Panel
If I understand correctly, you linked to the Go Power Rigid Eclipse Solar Charging System with MPPT Solar Controller, # GP97MR but instead of the kit, you want only the panel without the controller. For this, you will want to select the Go Power Rigid Eclipse Expansion Kit, # GP47MR. This is the 190 Watt Solar Panel that is in the kit you linked to and does include the installation hardware and MC4 branch connectors.

  • Recommended Solar Panels For RV Use in All Weather & Conditions
So there are a couple really good options for solar panels for the roof of your RV for all types of elements, depending on the power you need. For both wind and all weather, I highly recommend rigid panels over flex panels to resist the wind. And for a controller, an MPPT is necessary, particularly if you are in colder weather, as this type of controller is much more efficient and optimizes the charge your batteries get. Here are the options for you: - 200 Amp Hours of AGM/100 Amp Hours...

  • Recommended Inverter and Solar Panel for RV
For a 30-Amp service RV with the Progressive Dynamics Mighty Mini AC/DC Panel and Converter/Smart Charger, # PD4045KA installed, I recommend the 1,000 Watts - 12V Progressive Dynamics Pure Sine Wave Inverter w/ Transfer Switch & Remote, # PD94FR. I really like the build quality of the Progressive Dynamics products and this component has an integrated transfer switch that will automatically change from inverter to shore power when you hook up to a power pedestal at the campground. The fixed-mount...
