Easy to install if you are comfortable drilling holes into your metal bed. Is just 1 hole, 2 inches. Plug and play. Haven't connected trailer but i have no reason to think it won't work. Installed on a 2018 ram 2500, short bed. 607380

Product is well designed and easy to install. Nice heavy wiring! Plugs worked well. I removed the Ford factory 7 wire/ 4 wire trailer plug from the bracket to allow easier unplugging of the factory wiring harness and proper alignment for plugging in the Bargeman wiring harness. The 2" mounting hole the instructions recommend in the inner bed panel is extremely tight to get the second plug through but can be accomplished with patience and careful manipulation. A 2-1/16" hole saw would be better but is a specialized size not available at most consumer outlets. In hindsight, I would file a small notch in the 2" hole to accommodate the connector tab on the second plug and allow easier passage of the plug. The 90 degree molded cable behind the bed connector is a good design feature and should eliminate future connectivity issues you might encounter with a straight harness. Highly recommend! 183764

2" hole is purdy tight for plug end and wire to go through. better have a small grinder to winden up a spot when you put second plug and wire in the hole. other wise plugged in and works like it should. 425695

2015 Chevrolet Silverado 2500

Delivery and order process were very good. Product quality seems pretty low with a significant part of the wiring harness simply wrapped in electrical tape for about 6-8" from both of the connector plugs. Installation instructions were EXTREMELY POOR! The directions call for a 2" diameter hole in the bed and then send the two connectors and the wire all through the hole. IMPOSSIBLE! The small plug is about 2" diameter by itself, plus it has a locking tab on the side that adds about 1/4" to the diameter. On top of that there are the wires to the long plug that also must fit through the hole at the same time. That adds about another 1/4" or more. The net result is you need to create an oblong hole with about 3/4" x 3/4" additional clearance to even begin to fit everything through. NOT easy after the 2" hole is there.... more drilling, filing, cutting, and magic words required. NOT HAPPY!! With a little planning you might be able to use a hole saw and cut an overlapping 1" hole before doing the 2" and that might have worked. Factory should figure this out and tell you the proper hole requirements! Next, the instructions have figure "H" that shows a loose connector plug supposedly in the wiring harness......don't waste your time looking for it 'cause it doesn't exist! A nice picture of the back end of the bumper-mounted 7-pin connector would have made this pretty simple. Figured it out after exhausting my search efforts. Also it might be nice if they included a little dielectric grease to treat the plugs. They will all be hanging in a wet road-salt environment so how long will they last?? Time will tell... 500639

2018 Chevrolet Silverado

This is the third fifth wheel plug kit I have ordered from etrailer. First was for my 98 dodge, second was for my 2012 silverado which I just traded in for anew 2018 silverado 2500hd. I ordered the the 9 foot plug assy thinking I might install the plug in the left front corner of my box but ended up installing it back in the same spot as my 2012 which is right over the left rear tire by the middle stake pocket. in reality I could have got away with the 7 foot harness instead and would havent of had to loop 2 feet of harness but it was no big deal to hide 2 feet under the truck in a big lazy loop. Drop your spare as it is right up to the back of your factory trailer connection in the rear bumper. no would be a good time to lube your spare tire winch and associated parts. Drill your 2 inch hole like in the video, I sealed the fresh cut metal with sealer to stop rust and stuffed the wire in and rear ward. It slid down the inner wheel well and dumped out by the rear bumper on to the floor. Route your wire up over the frame, staying clear of the rear spring, stay on top of the frame and cross members so when you raise the spare back up it dosent get damaged. Pull your factory plug lock like in the video and put it aside. Unplug the connection, grease up all connections with dielectric grease and plug and play, install your factory lock and secure your wire, reinstall you r spare and you are done. it was too late in the evening for power tests so it will get done this week end when i install the bed rail kit for the fifth wheel. with 3 feet of snow in front of the trailer I cant hook up to it to tests lights right now. Sales person was very helpfull ordering parts with me double checking part numbers as we went along, parts came delivered in acceptable time frame. so far I give e-trailer 2 forks, a knife and spoon for great service! 495709

This would be a 5 star, However about 1 month ago the cover door cracked in half and is hanging on by a thread, I fear the next time i use the plug the cover will break off exposing the pins to whatever may be in the trucked and of course the elements. It was a breeze to install and other than that has been great! 594867

I installed this product on my 2019 Silverado 2500HD LTZ . High quality product. Easy install. Did it myself. Took less than 1 hour. I would recommend to others. Plenty of length to get to front side of box if desired. Basically t taps into existing trailer plug. 661604

Great product ,this wiring harness was even easier to install than the instructions called for. I removed the liner keeper on the rear stake pocket, pulled the liner out from the wall allowing access between it and the truck bed, layed the wire into the space between the liner and bed, running it to the rear. Excess wire is curled up in front of the wheel well after hooking into existing truck wire harness. The hard part was pulling the tail gate loose, supporting it (back up camera wire precludes tail gate removal unless disconnected). Plug end of harness fits between bed and bumper nicely (plenty of room to slip it into place). Disconnected existing plugs and inserted new harness into open connectors. I used a metal bracket (availabe at walmart or auto stores) to secure the 7 way connector end to the bed lip close to my tool box. This permitted the wire to fall behind the bedliner. Drilled one hole to secure bracket, then cut liner for wire. pushed liner back into place reinstalled liner keeper (plastic screw in expandable plastic anchor). As an after thought, to protect the exposed wires to the connectors, I installed a plastic wire sheath over these, and secured the ends with electrical tape, then used wire ties to complete the installation. Extremely fast ship. Thank You PS Dodge does not have a source for these harnesses. I told them about you as a source. It would have benn atleast another month or longer to get this harness. Dodge dealer had this on back order for me for over a month as it was. 35978

I had to tear out the fifth wheel wiring some professionals installed. My dodge was throwing errors because the way they spliced in allowed water to ground out the trailer wiring. It took me 1 1/2 hours to remove and repair. The system I purchased took less than 15 minutes to install. Thank you for making it so easy. The pictures include what they did and then after new kit installed. 482938

The assembly instructions were clear and straight forward. The only issue I had was my own mistake of picking a poor location to drill a hole with a brace behind it the first go round. A handful of heavy duty zip ties included in the kit would have been helpful to complete the installation and securing the harness. 240371

Nice product and works well, but there needs to be something in the instructions about the mounting location. I mounted it one "rib" further towards the front of the bed than what was in the video. I didn't want it getting damage from cleaning bark and lawn debris out of the bed with shovels and rakes hitting it. Well, no matter how hard I pulled and as straight a shot as I could do, it was a couple inches short of reaching the back plug in, so I had to splice in a foot of wire to make everything fit. Make sure you use the location that is posted in the mounting video. 309660

2016 Ford F-250 Super Duty

The depth of the 90 degree elbow on the bed connector makes it difficult to find a suitable mounting location in my 2016 F-250. It is 3-1/2” deep from flange to elbow, and the included spacer only reduces that by about 1/2”. If I mount as shown in the instructions in the flat part of the bed above the ribbed portion I’ve only got about 2-1/2” of space between the body wall and the bed wall. There is clearance if I mount it lower in the ribbed portion of the bed, but that makes the connector more vulnerable to anything carried in the bed. Since I’ve passed the 60 day return period, I have 3 options. Mount it low and regret it one day, or fabricate a 1” spacer and mount it where it should be like in the instructions, or toss it and just use an extension cable. Bottom line, this “custom fit” cable doesn’t fit without compromise. For $70+, it should have been as easy as drilling a hole....in the right place. If you’ve got an F-250, recommend you look for a different product. 492493

DW, thank you for your review. The best mounting location of the 5th wheel wiring for the 2016 Ford F-250 super duty is in the ribbed portion of the bed wall. There is not enough space to install the plug on the top portion of the wall. We have not had any issues with the plug getting damaged in this location. I have attached a video of an install on a 2015 f-250.

  • Wiring Lance Slide In Camper to Work with In-Bed Trailer Connector on 2019 ford F250
Since the 7-way round pin plug is obsolete, your best bet would be to replace the connector on your camper with the common 7-way blade style connector. You'd remove the existing plug on your slide in camper, and replace it with # 54-77-003. You could then use an extension like # C56080 to reach the connector rearward of the wheel well.

If the 12V power circuit on your original bumper-mounted 7-way trailer socket on your F-350 worked before you installed the 5th wheel harness # 50-97-410 then most likely the issue is a bent contact pin that is not making a solid connection. Try disconnecting the 5th wheel harness and re-installing it on the factory 7-way. This will be a very easy install that will give you the connection you need and offer you a 4 way or 7 way. If the original 7 way is completly missing you will want to use the Hopkins Endurance...

If you have a 1999-2011 Ford F-350 Super Duty, the correct fifth-wheel and gooseneck wiring harness you will need is the item you selected, Bargman 90 Degree Wiring Harness, part # 50-97-410. • Best Way to Add Length to 5th Wheel Trailer 7-Way Wiring Harness in 2012 Ford F-250
In the long run you will be glad you have a long bed pickup since 5th wheel towing is much easier with the extra turning clearance you get from a long bed truck like your F-250. I have a suggestion that will not require you to remove the existing wiring harness, nor to have to drill another hole in the bed side. All you need is a 7-way extension cable like the 7-foot Curt # C56080. All you need to do is insert the trailer's male plug into the female socket and then connect the extension's...

  • Is Factory 7-Way Wiring the Same on Dodge, Ford, GM, and Toyota Trucks when Adding In-Bed 7-Way
After a certain year, Dodge, Ford, GM, and Toyota all started using the same type of connectors for tow package wiring 7-Way connectors. There are a few harnesses that fit all 4 of these makes. If you are using a harness like # 50-97-410 with the round connectors that just plugs in then it would be the same on newer Dodge, Ford, GM, and Toyota vehicles. On older models and those that did not originally come with a 7-Way trailer connector from the factory they would be unique to the manufacturer...

  • Running Lights On 5th Wheel Trailer Not Working on 2016 Chevy Silverado 3500
Usually when there is a function that is not working on a trailer the most likely culprit is a dirty or corroded trailer connector. Make sure the trailer 7-Way, the new 7-Way, # 50-97-410, and where the new 7-Way Tees into the bumper 7-Way are all clean and free of corrosion inside, where the wires attach, and outside on the pins. While it is unlikely the connectors on your 2016 Chevy Silverado 3500 are corroded it is still worth taking the time to check the connections. I also recommend...

  • Looking For a Pigtail Connector With 2 Grounding Wires for a 2001 Dodge Ram 2500
I have some suggestions, that I am sure you have tried, but, I want to offer to be sure. Make sure that your connections are seated properly. Either the ground or brake output wire pin inside one of the connectors may be bent or damaged therefore not permitting the proper current through. Check to be sure that the ground and the brake-out pin inside all of the connectors is solid and not loose. Based on the issue you are describing, it seems the problem is within the fifth wheel...
