Video Transcript for Review of ARB Tire Inflator - Universal Twin Motor Onboard Air Compressor Kit - ARB86ZV

Hi, everybody. Andy here with etrailer.com. Let's take a real quick look at this ARB Universal Twin Motor Onboard Air Compressor Kit. Now this universal onboard air compressor system, it's gonna let you run air lockers or air up your tires. The manifold is going to hold pressurized air, giving you air to actuate your air lockers. The manifold working pressure is 150 PSI, and this mounting bracket is going to let you customize your installation and some drilling will be required to install this bracket, but this bracket is going to also act as a heat sink to help dissipate heat away from the mounting point.

As you can see, I have this compressor attached to the bracket, just to kinda give you an idea of what this setup is going to look like. So, just to help you better visualize what to expect when you have the compressor itself mounted to this bracket. So, the maximum air pressure is going to be 150 PSI. The maximum airflow is 6.16 cubic feet per minute, and the duty cycle is gonna be 100%. The thermal protection on the motor itself is gonna help keep that compressor from extreme temperature damage.

The safety valve is gonna keep the unit from pressure buildup, and then the inline fuses are going to prevent the unit from overloading or short circuiting. This does include this 23-foot long hose with quick connect studs to let you use different attachments. And, then, this also includes this really handy tire-inflation gun with 200 PSI digital gauge here that's gonna allow for precise measuring when inflating or deflating tires. As you can see, it is back-lit, batteries are installed on this, so it'll be ready to go right out of the box. And then you are going to get all the hardware to install this, the electrical components, wiring loom and what you see here for the electrical connections.

You're also going to get some accessory tips to keep your toys and mattresses aired up on your trip. But I think that's gonna wrap up our quick look today. I do hope that our brief time together was helpful for you. Again, my name is Andy, thank you for joining me.

I use my 4runner as a daily driver and off road with it fairly regularly. So usually I have 37ish psi. When I get to the trail I have to air down. Sometimes a bit, sometimes a lot. Makes for a better ride.

So then I either had to use a cheap emergency pump, that overheats and takes forever. Or hope there's a gas station with working air a reasonable distance from the trail so I can get home safely.

I decided to add this dual compressor. It's overkill, but it's flipping awesome. And pretty much everything about off roading is overkill :) so why not...

I aired down to about 12 psi and it got me back to 37 in 1:34 per tire. Pretty dang quick.

For my setup I mounted the compressor under the hood and added an extension hose to mount the coupler by my winch. The compressor comes with a hose and different accessories. I had to add the extension hose and the coupler with the smaller fitting that works with the extension.

Bonus of this is I have been able to help out a buddy in the parking lot, air up my daughters tire without having to go to the gas station, air up my sons basketball and soccer balls (careful it's very quick!)

And my ulterior motive... Now I am set up to add air lockers!

So ridiculous, but so fun!
