Video Transcript for Review of Lippert 5th Wheel Pin Box - Standard Replacement for 0719 Pin Box - LC46JK

Hi everyone, Steven here with etrailer. Today we're taking a look at this Lippert Extended Pin Box in a raw finish rated at 15,500 pounds gross vehicle weight rating. So folks, if you're looking to improve towing clearance and enhance your fifth wheel towing experience, this extended pin box is a great practical upgrade or just a great replacement, so maybe you've damaged it. This does replace an OE pin box number 0719 and that's traditionally a medium pin box size and the wings, so you have both wings here. Now that being said, if your wing setup is still good and you just need this intersection, you could most certainly take this apart and just use this intersection. But you would need to weld the new wings onto your camper trailer.

If you are doing that, I highly recommend you have a professional install them as welding is required. And then based on your zip code, we can find someone that's trusted with etrailer in your area to do the install. Now as I mentioned before, this was rated at 15,500 pounds. This is an extended pin box, so it's been designed to give you a little bit additional clearance between the truck cab and the fifth wheel itself during tight turns, tight maneuvering and that extra space can actually help reduce the risk of those cab to trailer contacts, especially with those shorter bed trucks.

Now as you can see, this is built from heavy grade steel. See if I can turn a little bit, give you a little different angle here. Obviously your pins underneath here. Unfortunately we can't see that today, but it's down there and this is engineered to handle the demands of those long distance travels while also providing a secure connection between your tow vehicle and trailer. So again, we're all finished.

You just want to paint it once you're done doing your installation and then you're good to go. So again, whether you're upgrading a worn out box or looking to gain additional clearance, this is a great option for you. Again, it's a medium pin box and it replaces an 0719 OE pin box number. Now this does feature a 12 inch width and you do need six bolts per side. Obviously there's seven in each of these, but you do need a minimum of six bolts.
