Towing 1000 lb Maximum PWC and Trailer with 2008 Ford Focus
Question:
I have a 2008 ford focus. The owners manual says towing is not recommended. Would the Draw-Tite Sportframe Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class I - 1-1/4 be able to safely tow one jet ski and trailer? The combined weight will probably be about 800-1000 pounds.

The Draw-Tite Class I hitch you referenced, part # 24805 would have a 2000 lb towing and 200 lb tongue weight capacity. Although the hitch would be physically capable of towing your PWC trailer, you will be limited to the capacity of the lowest rated component in the towing system.
The decision is ultimately yours, but I cannot personally recommend anything that would contradict the vehicle manufacturer's recommendations.
If you decide to tow your PWC, you'd also need the following:
Trailer wiring harness, part # 118457
Ball mount, part # 3593
1-7/8 inch trailer ball, part # 19256
2 inch trailer ball, part # 19258
I've linked you videos showing hitch as well as the wiring harness being installed,
