The easiest spot is your upper center marker light at the rear. Brandmotion's # BM37SR universal harness splices into the marker light’s positive and ground wires, so the camera comes on when your tow vehicle’s parking lights are on. You’ll drill a 1/2 inch hole near that light to pass the camera’s connector through, seal it with silicone, and mount the bracket with the included screws.

I've attached the instructions and a demo video for you to check out.
What type of trailer/RV is this going on, Cheryl?

Andrew, if I hook the camera to the marker light like you said, does that mean the camera only works when my headlights are on? I’d rather have it running anytime I’m towing.

@James That’s a good catch, James. If you wire to the marker light, the camera only powers when your running lights are on. It’s simple and works well for most folks. If you want it on anytime you’re towing, you can tie into a constant 12V at the trailer junction box or even run a fused line of your own. Just keep in mind it’ll draw power whenever the 7-way is plugged in. Do you plan to use it more as a full-time observation camera or just for backing into spots? Hi Andrew - still trying to clarify. I have an Airstream that did NOT come pre-wired for a rear camera. If i wire it into the middle rear running light - will it be on while I am towing the vehicle? Or will it only be on when I am backing up?

@JulieL Hey Julie, the camera will be powered on whenever it sees power/signal on the wiring it is connected to. For example, if you were to wire it into your the running light circuit, it would turn on whenever your running lights are turned on. Does that make sense? If you only want it on while reversing, you'll need to find the reverse light circuit and tap into that for power/ground. If no reverse circuit on Airstream, you'll need to get that signal from your vehicle's 7 way reverse circuit.
