Will My Bike Rack with 6.5" Vertical Post Clear My Bumper Using Curt Hitch # C26VV on 24 Highlander?
Question:
I have a bike rack that bolts into a 2inch hitch. the bike rack has a vertical post that is 6.5 inches out from the bolt that must line up with the bolt hole in the hitch. Will that clear the back of the car or do I need to buy a hitch extension?

Hello Mark,
Since you’re using the Curt # C26VV hitch on your 2024 Toyota Grand Highlander, the distance from the hitch pin hole to the edge of the rear bumper is about 4 inches. Your bike rack’s vertical post sits 6.5 inches out from the hitch pin hole, which means you’ll have around 2.5 inches of clearance between the rack and your bumper. So you’re in the clear, no need for a hitch extension. The rack should fit just fine without making contact with the back of the car.
What kind of bikes are you transporting, and what kind of bike rack do you have?
