Hello Heinz, thanks for reaching out. We do have options for tire chains that will fit your 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee with the 31/10.5-15 tires. What I recommend are the Konig Commercial Truck Tire Chains # th01571255. These are self-tensioning drape-over chains which are rated for on-road and offroad use.
This style of chain is the best as far as traction and ease of installation. All you do is drape the chain over the tire and make your connections. No getting in and out of the car to drive over the chains. Konig chains also come with a 5 year warranty which really sets them apart from other tire chain brands. As long as you only use them when needed, and keep them dry when not in use, they will last for several seasons easily.
The video I linked below will show you how they are installed. There is also a link below that will show you our full selection of chains that fit your tires. Feel free to reach out if you have any other questions.
