Question:

I am looking for a 3 bike rack for 2024 escalade. Comparing the Kuat Transfer, Rocky Mounts, and Thule. Are the receiver tubes 2inch on all of them or are they 1-1/4inch with a 2inch adapter? Would like a true 2inch steel mount tube. Any advice on the best one for strength and convenience regarding access to the rear hatch etc,. Regards, Michael

Hey Michael, so all of the bike racks you mentioned Thule Epos part # TH69XE, Kuat Transfer 3 # KU24FR, and the RockyMounts MonoRail Bike Rack for 3 Bikes # RKY10004-10005 only fit the 2 inch hitch size so in that regard they would all work well for you.

The Thule and the Kuat are both the lighter options as they both weigh 51 lbs to the RockyMounts 63 lbs. The Thule has the highest weight capacity for the bikes at 160 lb for all three bikes or 75 lbs per bike if only carrying up to 2 bikes.

So that's more or less the bigger differences we get asked a lot about but I would still go with the Thule as it's the easiest to use overall due to it's bike clamp design and it's the option that folds down the smallest when not in use so you take up as little garage space as possible. It also folds back really far which allows you to have rear cargo area access when the bikes are loaded too.
