Recommended Surge Protector For 50 Amp RV
Products Featured in This Question
Question:
I presently own a 30 amp rv with a progressive industries 30 amp surge protector. I am buying a new rv that has 50 amp service. My question is can I still use my 30 amp surge protector with some sort of adapter and still get 50 amps of service to the new trailer? Or do I need to get a new 50 amp protector? Thank you

Hello Rick. You will need to get a new surge protector to use with your new 50 amp RV. You cannot safely use a 30 amp protector, and there is no adapter made for this purpose. Since you are in the market for a new one I recommend the Portable Power Watchdog Surge Protector with Bluetooth and Emergency Shut Down - 50 Amp # HU87FR. This one is Bluetooth/smartphone enables and it has a built in emergency shut off to help protect your appliances. You will find our review video for the Watchdog surge protector below.
