How to Choose a Replacement Axle for a 1997 Shorelander Boat Trailer

Question:

Hi there, I have a 1997 Shorelander boat trailer. R1828B 2x4 chassi frame 74.5inch width. Do you have a replacement axel for this? I blew out the port side on the trailer and looking to fix it. A marina is telling me I need an entire axel because they cant find parts to fix it. Any help you can offer?

Hey Ryan, thanks for reaching out!

You'll either need to have a shop cut off and weld on a new spindle or you'll need to replace the whole axle on your 1997 Shorelander Boat Trailer.

To get the right axle I'll need your axle weight rating as well as the hub face and spring center measurements. It sounds like the 3.5K Trailer Axle with Idler Hubs - 4" Drop # e72GR might work since it has 89" hub face and a 74" spring center specs, but you'll need to confirm this on your end.

Attached is a photo along with a video to help explain this.
