What Conversion Kit Is Needed For A Dometic A&E Sunchaser Manual Awning To Convert To Electric?

Updated 05/16/2024 | Published 05/15/2024

Question:

I have a manual AandE Dometic Sunchaser awning on our travel trailer. What kit would you recommend for converting to electric/motorized awning? Thank you for your advice.

Since you have a Dometic A&E awning you will want to select either the White # LC434724 or Black # LC434723 Solera Arms Conversion Kit. The Kit # LC329250 you found is only if you already have a manual Solera awning.

Thank you for the information. Our awning is over 15 years old. Do you offer the awning fabric also? It seems prudent to replace it at the same time we upgrade to electric, do you agree?

@David Yes, replacing the awning fabric would likely be the best option and will be much easier when upgrading to electric. Can you tell me how long your awning is from the center of the left awning arm to the center of the right awning arm.

@BudM The fabric on the awning is 16 feet wide and is white in color. Thank you for your assistance.

@David So I just want to verify since you said the fabric on the awning is 16' wide. If you measured the width of the fabric at 16' you likely have a 17' awning from center of awning arm to center of awning arm. The Fabric # LCV000334408 would be the best solution for this. Otherwise if you measured 16' from arm to arm it will use the Fabric # LCV000334399.
