Will Gen-Y 5th Pin Boxes Void The Lippert Frame Warranty

Question:

Are the GenY kingpin hitches Lippert approved? Im not talking about the gooseneck hitches. I just cant find anything stating the kingpin hitches are approved but I know Luxe and Brinkley offer them on their Lippert frames. Thank you

Hi James,

To my knowledge the Reese Goosebox is the only replacement option that won't void the frame warranty. That being said, the frame warranty is typically only a year so you really aren't losing much voiding it, especially if you've had the trailer for over a year.

To find the correct fit for your trailer you'll need to first determine the bolt pattern for your trailer and then measure for the fully loaded pin weight of the trailer. For example, the Gen-Y Hitch Shock Absorbing 5th Wheel Pin Box # 325-GH-8040 is designed for a 1621 bolt pattern and would be good for a trailer with a pin weight that falls between 1,501-3,000lbs. If you look at your pin box there should be a white sticker that lists the LCI item #, RPO #, and Serial #. I can use these to look up the pattern or you can use the measurement guide I've attached below to measure for the pattern.

I'm not sure why the Reese Goosebox is mentioned. As I stated, I'm not talking about gooseneck hitches. My interest is the GenY 5th wheel pin box. Your item number would be 325-GH-8040. Thank you.

@JamesM I referenced the Reese Goosebox because it's the only approved option.

I just saw you referenced the hitch I'm considering. My LCI # is 2023015630 My RPO # is 0011106872 Serial # S010923775 This is for a Jayco Seismic 4113. My real pin weight hovers around 3600 lbs.

@JamesM Based on the numbers you provided your pin box has a Rhino bolt pattern and would need the Gen-Y # GY78GR. This has a pin weight capacity ranging from 2,500lbs - 4,500lbs so it would be able to handle you a little under or over weight with no problem.
