Question:

Hi, Brand new Grand Highlander XLE on its way to me. Ive found the one and only Curt #13519. Does anyone know if the plug and play highlander wiring converter kit will work with the grand highlander? Its the one where the wiring is already in the bumper to click in the 4 way and the converter gets added in the drivers side rear wheel well? How much could Toyota really change the grand from the ungrand? Thanks,

As far as wiring for the 2024 Toyota Grand Highlander, we do have the Curt # C59236 available which is more of a universal hardwire harness. Unfortunately there are not any plug-and-play options that have been confirmed to fit as of yet (October 4, 2023).

I would like to think that they would use a similar plug between the Highlander and Grand Highlander models, but it is too soon to say. We have not seen one come thru our shop yet. As soon as we can get our hands on one, or the folks over at Curt get one, we will be able to confirm fitment. We are always adding new vehicle fits so please check back with us in the coming weeks.

@Emily I am sorry, but we do not. We have not seen one at our shop here, so no chance to install anything yet. We have done installs on similar vehicles like a Sienna or Kia Telluride and I have linked those install videos for you below. So, not the exact same vehicle, but it should still give you a good enough general idea on how to do it.

is there any update on a plug-and-play wiring harness for the 2024 Toyota Grand Highlander without the towing package?

@Ned So there is a new wiring option for the 2024 Grand Highlander without the tow package, but it is not a plug-and-play. What we have now is the Tekonsha OEM Replacement Vehicle Wiring Harness # K57VR. This is an OEM style 7-way. It does require splicing into the vehicle wiring though. Is this something you were thinking of installing yourself? Or are you taking it somewhere?

@JesseM I was planning to install it myself and was hoping to avoid any splicing. What do you think about the tekonsha 119250KIT?

@Ned Gotcha. So the Tekonsha # 119250KIT is the only true "no-splice" wiring option for the 2024 Grand Highlander. You do still have to run a wire to the battery but there will be no cutting or splicing of the vehicles wiring. Finding the correct wires to attach the ZCI clamps to will probably be the hardest part, and the kit comes with a tester that will help with this. Take a look at the video in the like below. It will show you an example of installation. Let me know if you have other questions.
