If you're referring to the Air Distribution Box # ACDB of an Advent Air RV Air Conditioner then the knob with the line that goes from small to large is the temperature, with the smaller side being warmer and larger side being colder. The other knob is for your modes and will let you switch between low, med, high settings for both cooling and fan modes.
