Troubleshooting A Furrion Camera System That Won't Power On With 2020 Ford F-150
Products Featured in This Question
Question:
I installed a Furrion Vision S backup cam on our TT, it was prewired for the Furrion camera, sunset trail super lite. Tow vehicle is a 2020 Ford F150 XL, camera works fine and pairs with monitor when using the pigtail off the monitor power cable. I tried using the Furrion adapter FR87PR still no power. Ive tried it with running lights on, headlights, lights on and trying to pair with truck in reverse. Nothing. What next?

Since we already know that the camera and monitor # FOS43TASF work when plugged in together in the cab the issue lies somewhere in the wiring between the 7-way on the vehicle and connection point on the trailer for the camera. I recommend getting out a multimeter # PT89ZR and setting it to DC to test the 7-way and ensure that it's actually sending power back to the trailer. Once you confirm power is being sent through the 7-way you can plug in the adapter # FR87PR and test the trailer side to see if power is passing through.
From there you'll plug the 7-way cable of the trailer into the adapter and check the power at the junction box where the 7-way ends and connects to the wiring on the trailer. From there you'll check it back at the camera connection point. As you work your way backwards you'll narrow down where the issue could lie and can then find and fix it. Once you narrow down where the issue is I'd be happy to help troubleshoot further.
