Products Featured in This Question
Question:
I’m considering buying a motorcycle carrier to into my trailer hitch. I’ma little concerned about weight and any damage that could occur with all that weight on that single point. I have a 2018 Outback with one of your trailer hitches. I don’t remember the brand but it bolted into the same bolt holes as the bumper. Should I be concerned and I’d that a class II hitch, and finally how much downward weight can it carry? Thank you.

You purchased The Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver # 76227 which has a 2 inch receiver and has a tongue weight capacity up to 600 pounds. I would recommend checking your vehicle's manual to find the proper tongue weight capacity of your vehicle. You will be able to use The etrailer Motorcycle Carrier w/ Ramp for 2 inch Hitch # e98873.
The carrier has a weight capacity up to 500 pounds, so it will work well with the hitch you have installed on your vehicle. The included ramp can be positioned on either side of carrier for simple loading and unloading of motorcycle. The ramp secures to the carrier during travel. The rack is made out of a durable steel that has a black powder coat finish. The carrier can be locked by using The etrailer anti-rattle lock # e99047 (sold separately).
