Question:
Roof rack for a bare roof 2006 Dodge Ram 1500 Mega Cab with the 6 foot 4 inch bed
asked by: Tina B
Expert Reply:
I checked with every manufacturer individually, and there are no standard roof rack options for your 2006 Dodge Ram 1500 Mega Cab, so to add a rack you'd need to get one for your truck bed. For a simple rack system that clamps onto the side rails of your Ram, you can go with an option from Inno:
- Inno Truck Bed Cargo Rack - Standard Beds - Full-Size Trucks # INRT101-79
This is an economical way to carry some lightweight gear (up to 110 lbs) and can be easily removed if you aren't using it. For more robust applications and heavier cargo, a better option is a ladder rack, the 800 lb capacity Erickson Truck Bed Ladder Rack with Load Stops # EM07705.
