Recommended Cargo Box for a 2017 Honda HRV
Question:
I have a 2017 Honda HRV. The distance from the rear hatch line to the back of the front bar is about 55 1/4 inches. My bars are 32.5 inches apart. My roof is naked and these are Yakima installed bars and clips.Which roof boxes will fit on my car?

The best cargo box for your 2017 Honda HR-V is going to be the Thule Force XT L Rooftop Cargo Box - 16 cu ft - Black AeroSkin item # TH6357B.The Force XT requires 51-1/8 inches from the front cross bar to the line where your roof and hatch meet to open your rear hatch. With 55-1/4" you will have plenty of room. The 32-1/2" spacing between front and rear crossbars is also perfect as this cargo box requires between 24" - 36". You will have no problem getting the Force XT to mount on your Yakima crossbars. It fits round, square, aero, elliptical, and most factory crossbars.
This low-profile box offers 16 cubic feet of storage space and features pre-installed Quick-Grip mounts. The dual-side-opening lid lets you open the box from either side of your HR-V. I have linked a review video below.
The SportRack Horizon Rooftop Cargo Box - 11 cu ft - Black item # SR7011 you were looking at is too long and you will not be able to open up your rear hatch.
