It sounds like you currently have 20.5 x 8 - 10 tires on your 1984 Coleman and would like to replace them with 4.80/4.00-8 tires. I would not recommend doing this since the tires will be significantly smaller with almost 4" of difference in the outer diameter. For an equivalent replacement you can use a 205/65-10 tire like the Loadstar K399 Bias Trailer Tire - 205/65-10 - Load Range E # AM1HP56. For a wheel and tire combo with a 4 on 4 bolt pattern you could use the # AM3H460.
If you were actually looking for a 4.80-12 tire and not a 4.80-8 that would also work. The tires wouldn't be as wide as a 205/65-10 but they have the same outer diameter. If that is the case then I recommend getting a radial tire like the Taskmaster 4.80R12 Radial Trailer Tire # TT48012C. This would have a slightly lower capacity at 990 lbs per tire at 90 psi so that is something you will need to keep in mind. This tire fits 12" x 4" rims so for a wheel you could use the # AM20122.
