2019 GMC 2500 double cab has existing Aries round nerf bars 3 inch diameter black. How do pads disconnect from bars to replace?

To replace the rubber step pad on the 3" Aries Nerf Bars for your 2019 GMC Sierra 2500 Double Cab, like what we see with part # AA204046-2, you'll need the replacement step pad # AA2090139.

This installs with metal clip inserts that the nibs on the step pad secure to. You'll likely have to rip off the top of the pad and then work to get the metal clips off. I saw a review where someone had to eventually take a drill bit to them as they can be difficult (see attached photo).
