Recommended Water Heater Replacement For Atwood GC10A-2

Updated 05/04/2025 | Published 03/10/2022

Question:

Looking for a replacement for an Atwood water heater model GC10A-2, can you suggest options since this seems to be an older model. Cutout dimensions are 15-3/4 x 16-1/4, has electronic heating element and flame pilot-start propane. Thank you

I recommend going with a tankelss water heater like the Furrion RV Tankless Water Heater - Gas - Automatic Pilot - 60,000 BTU - 16" x 16" Door, part # FR98SR. This water heater comes with a 16" X 16" door, which is approximately the same dimensions as the cutout dimensions of your old water heater. Since it is tankless, you will not have to wait for a tank to fill before you have access to hot water. It will use your existing gas and water lines.

I have included a product description link, a video demo link, and a video of this water heater getting installed below.

@SaraG sorry for the delay on this, our comments weren't coming through properly. The only 10 gallon we have with a tank is the GE Profile RV Water Heater # GE97RR (white door) or # GE24RR (black door). This fits a cutout that is 12-3/4" high x 12-3/4" wide x 26-1/8" deep. However, the door is 14-3/4" x 14-3/4" so you might have to modify your opening if it doesn't completely cover it.
