Finding 12v Constant Power Wire On A 2002 Chevrolet Silverado
Published 08/31/2021 >
Question:
I need to install a relay for my backup camera on my 02 Silverado 3500, but cannot find a 12 volt constant power source when the truck is on to connect it to. So far, Ive seen that the power wire for my stereo might work as one?

The most common way to get power from the rear of your vehicle is to get it from the running lights. Go to your lights in the back and start your truck. Test to make sure you have the running light power wire and splice into it using this connector # SWC501915-1. That's perfect for your backup camera because you're not pulling power from the front of the vehicle and having to run all that wire back to the camera.
