Question:

As you can see from the photo, I have a single axle Jayco camper being pulled by 2005 4-Runner V8. Camper is around 2750 lbs unloaded. Ive read most everything you have on your website and also many of the reviews. I am leaning towards adding the Sumo helper Springs primarily to reduce the sag in the back. The bonus is that they seem to be suitable to leave on the vehicle when not pulling the trailer without adversely effecting the ride and control. Also ease of installation and affordability is a factor Assuming you agree with my choice, I am not clear on whether you recommend them on front also? Thanks

You are right on with my recommendation.

For rear suspension enhancement for your 2005 Toyota 4Runner towing a single axle Jayco camper weighing around 2750 unloaded the SumoSprings # SS78DR is what I recommend.

SumoSprings are a lot softer than other jounce style suspension enhancement so your unloaded ride will not be affected, but you will still get 1000lbs of load leveling support when towing your camper.

These are also maintenance free where air helper springs can leak air and require up keep, and will be very easy to install as they will be a direct replacement for your factory bump stops. All you will need to do is remove the two bolts holding each bump stop on and then install the SumoSprings in the same place with the included hardware and thread locker.

There is no need to add front suspension enhancement for towing a trailer, as you are actually raising the front of the vehicle by hooking up the trailer and not compressing the front suspension.

With all of that said, the best way to get rid of suspension sag when towing a travel trailer is with a weight distribution hitch. If you do not already have one then I recommend adding one. The correct weight distribution hitch will be dependent on the total tongue weight of your setup. Total tongue weight is the tongue weight of your fully loaded and ready to tow trailer plus the weight of any cargo behind the rear axle of your 4Runner. If you can tell me your total tongue weight I would be happy to recommend a weight distribution hitch for you.
