Troubleshooting Lighting Issues When Flat Towing A 2017 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited
Question:
Hi- We have a 2017 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited that we flat tow behind our 2021 Renegade Verona Super C. We have a supplemental light strip along the top rear of the Jeep that is hardwired. We also have a set of auxiliary lights on a bike rack on the back of the Jeep. When we are not connected to our RV all lights work perfectly. Problem is when we are connected to our RV we have no right turn signal on the light strip or the bike rack lights. Left turn and brake lights work fine. Right turn signal on Jeep itself and RV works fine. Any thoughts on what might be wrong and where I should look. The fact that the Jeep right direction works hooked up to the RV but not the rest is throwing me off.

When it comes to wiring the first thing to check for is any shorts or bends in the wiring. If your wiring harness for your lights uses a converter like the Hopkins Custom Tail Light Wiring Kit for Towed Vehicles # HM56202 it could be malfunctioning and not correctly sending signals. I've attached a video for testing the converter box and our help guide on wiring troubleshooting.
If this doesn't solve your issue please reply back with the wiring you're using to connect from the RV and the lighting systems you're using on the Jeep so I can look into the specific items.
