Question:

I have a 2011 Ford Expedition EL King Ranch, and have just purchased a 30 foot travel trailer. I am looking for the best fit for towing mirrors. My side view mirrors are heated, remote control, and power folding. I would like to attach to these with either the suction cup type or ratchet type extension mirrors. Will the suction cup type harm the power mirror mechanism? Will the ratchet strap type hold tight and stay in place. If neither of these are wise choices, is a door mount going to harm the paint surface?

My first choice of a universal mirror would be the Cipa Deluxe Door Mount, part # 11650. If your Expedition does NOT have the applied plastic cladding on the bottom portion of the front doors, the 11650 would fit great.

Any portions of the mirror assembly that would come into contact with the vehicle are rubber coated, so scratching would not be a concern.

The K-Source Clip on Towing Mirrors you referenced, part # KS3891 would also be an excellent choice. The mirror will attach to your existing mirrors as long as the mirror glass is recessed a bit into the mirror housing so the clips that the mirror attaches with have a point on the mirror housing to grab on to. The ratcheting rubber straps will cinch the mirror tightly to your mirror housing for a virtually vibration-free fit.
