How To Choose Correct Replacement for Mobile Home Axles
Question:
I recently purchased a home built trailer. 16foot by 8.5foot with a 25,000lb heavy duty tongue and dual mobile home axles 6000lb according to tags. It has the single large leaf spring kit on it as well and the old school 15inch rims/tires that are next to impossible to replace. Is there a general parts list I would need to get rid of these axles and replace with a more common set? The front set has brakes, the rear does not. The trailer weighs 2080 pounds so I would need 5000lb axles at the minimum as I do haul a 7500lb tractor as well as some landscape brick pallets that are 5-7000lbs. Thanks in advance.

In order to find the correct replacement axles for a trailer you need to gather some info on what you have now. This info would at the least be the capacity, hub face length (on center), and spring center length (on center). We do offer replacement solutions for more common capacities and length but not all, so custom ordering may be the only option.
I have attached our complete axle selection below. The part # 8327834 for example has a 7,000 lb capacity, 95" hub face, and 80" spring center. I don't have any of the above info for mobile home axles unfortunately. I don't believe they are all the same.
