Question:

Is it possible to adjust the Pace Edwards Switchblade Hard Tonneau cover Part #. 311-SWFA19A45 so it can be used with the above referenced tool box?? This will be over my Reese 18K 5th wheel hitch when not towing. I’m aware that your Soft Rollup Tonneau cover Part # A61409 is manufactured for exactly this set up, but I prefer the security and function of the Switchblade .

The toolbox that I assume you are referencing is the BAKBox 2 Collapsible Truck Bed Toolbox for BAK Revolver X2, Roll-X, and BAKFlip Tonneau Covers BAKBX92333 listed in a question for the BAK Revolver X4 Hard Tonneau Cover.

I called my contact at Pace Edwards, and they said that some customers cut the rails of the Pace Edwards Switchblade Hard Tonneau cover # 31-SWFA19A45 from the cover in order to shorten the length near the cab. While this is an option, I would strongly suggest getting another tonneau cover that is compatible with a toolbox. The Access Toolbox Edition Soft, Roll-Up Tonneau Cover # A61409 is the best option. It has a Deluxe AutoLatch II systtem that automatically engages 2 locks when the cover is closed. If you want extra security, you can add a Pop & Lock The Gate Defender Truck Tailgate Lock # PAL9900. A toolbox that will work with the Access Toolbox Soft Tonneau cover # A61409 is the UWS Truck Bed Chest - Wedge Series - Offset Lid # UWS01048.
