Question:
Can I use BD0287610300 with just set screws as my trailer only has set screws but measures 4” od is this ok to use as long as my set screws don’t line up with the pre existing holes?

Yes, you can use the Bulldoge Gooseneck Coupler, # BD0287610300, with just the set screws on your trailer. The pre-cut holes on this coupler are specifically for Bulldog's outer tube assembly, # BD0233100300, that can be welded to your trailer in place of your existing tube, but it is not a requirement to use the inner tube with your existing setup. Bulldog created this feature for an added safety benefit.
In fact, you wouldn't want to line up your set screws with the existing holes because the set screws need to dig into the coupler to hold it in place and you will want the latch always pointing to the drivers side.
