The MaxxAir FanMate vent cover Item # MA00-955001 is going to be just a little taller but the louvred end tapers in and it does not come with the screen which is Item # MA00-955202. 25" long x 18-1/8" wide x 10-1/4" tall.

The MaxxAir II Item # MA76JR is a more lower profile design, and the louvred end is straight up and down. 22-1/16" long x 18-1/8" wide x 9-3/4" tall. This does not come with a bug screen, and unfortunately, there is not one designed for this vent cover.

Each is also available in black under Item # MA00-955002 and Item # MA86JR.

I’m trying to understand the significant difference in cost. Does the FanMate allow the vent cover to open more than the MaxAir II? Is it less likely for rain to come in? Can you tell me the measurement from the front Ezclip to the front of the cover? I have a tank vent close to my

@DarinK Usually price differences like that just has to do with what the manufacturer chooses to sell them at. The FanMate # MA00-955001 having more space does make it a little more universal though so that's a plus. I went out to the warehouse and found that both covers measure about 4" from the middle of the clip to the front of the cover so clearance-wise they will be the same.

I have the Maxxair plus vent with the powered opening and closing feature. With this cover on, the vent lid can’t open all the way. Will this harm the lifting mechanism?

@JohnS Nope, not at all! Your vent is designed to detect obstructions and will automatically cut power to the motor when it encounters one. This won’t cause any excess wear or shorten the lifespan of your vent in any way. Just a quick note, Maxxair states that as long as the vent is at least 50% open, you’ll still get maximum airflow. If it’s open less than that, the airflow will just be reduced. Good info to keep in your back pocket! Also, part # MA26JR would allow your Maxxair Plus vent to fully open without any obstruction issues. Just wanted to share that in case you ever decide to swap it out.
