Does Atwood Water Heater GC6AA-10E Have an Anode Rod

Question:

Im trying to figure out what size anode I need for a Dometic water heater model GC6AA-10E. Is it 3/4 or 1/2? Thanks

That water heater part number you mentioned matches an Atwood that actually doesn't use an anode rod. You'd just need to drain the heater when not in use.

Would it be a good idea to use an anode rod in this water heater. Atwood GC6AA-10E. If so, what do you recommend? Thanks Mike

@Mike It doesn't use one so no it wouldn't work.

@JamesonC Yes it does have one. I have this exact model and I'm looking at it. It's on the left hand side.

So, I have the same water heater, does it need drained every time after use when it's gonna be setting for a few weeks to a month?

@Jon It's generally recommended to drain it about once per camping season.

Can an electric anode be added to preserve the tank on this model?
