Weight Capacity of Ultra-Fab Steel 5th Wheel King Pin Tripod Stabilizer
Question:
Im looking at the tri-pod stabilizer for 5th wheel trailers, and it looks like the Ultra-Fab model that is steel, and it says it supports 5,000 pounds, yet on another site it says it only supports 1,200 pounds? Which number is correct, since my king pin weight is right at 4,000 pounds. Here is the item and model # on your site. Ultra-Fab 5th Wheel King Pin Tripod Stabilizer - Steel - 37 to 50 - 5,000 lbs Item # UF19-950001

Helpful Expert Reply:
I checked with Ultra-Fab and the Ultra-Fab 5th Wheel King Pin Tripod Stabilizer part # UF19-950001 has a 5,000 lb weight capacity. That said, it wouldn't be supporting the full pin weight since the landing gear legs are still supporting the trailer but it will bear some weight. The aluminum versions are rated at 1,200 lbs.
