Looking a Roof Racks on the Cab of a 2017 Quad Cab Ram 1500 for use with a Tepui Explorer Kukenam 3 Rooftop Tent? I am a Yakima guy and prefer Yakima. can i put a rooftop tent on these bars over my 1500 crew cab with the tent being over these bars and NOT on the bed of truck.

The issue with all rooftop tents is that to mount them on a roof rack, the rack must be mounted to raised rails, and the roof racks that fit your 2017 Ram 1500 all attach to a naked roof, so a roof top tent is not compatible. I know you specified not on the bed of the truck, but that would be the only option for you so I wanted to mention it, and there is an option from Yakima for this:
- 78" Crossbars: Yakima OverHaul HD Adjustable Truck Bed Ladder Rack # Y01151-59
- 68" Crossbars: Yakima OverHaul HD Adjustable Truck Bed Ladder Rack # Y01151-58
And because the OverHaul HD uses standard size crossbars as opposed to the larger ones found on some racks, you can fit the Thule Tepui Explorer Kukenam 3 directly on the bars of the rack. You can choose from the following colors for this tent:
