Question:
Got the trailer tow group with my 2017 wrangler unlimited sport but only the 3.2 gear. so, class 2 hitch with 4 pin connector. I am trying to figure out if I can use a motorcycle carrier and bike with a total weight of 300 lbs 50 carrier + 250 bike. Since I am not pulling a trailer, the gear ratio doesnt matter. I only care about the tongue weight which Jeep states at 10 of trailer weight but I dont have a trailer. So, what say you?

In this case, you'll just want to use 10% of the maximum towing capacity of your 2017 Jeep JKU to determine the maximum tongue weight. From what I was able to find in the 2017 Jeep Wrangler owner's manual, your Sport model has different max weight capacities depending on the Jeep's axle ratio (as you're already aware). For a 3.21 gear ratio the maximum tongue weight is 200 lbs and maximum gross trailer weight is 2,000 lbs, so you're not going to be able to carry a motorcycle and carrier that weighs 300-lbs without being over the limit.
If you determine that you have a higher towing capacity than 2000-lbs, you'll want to find 10% of that and consider that your tongue weight capacity.
