Can Roller Bunks be Added to a Lund Grand Tyee 1950 50th Anniversary Special Boat Trailer

Updated 08/24/2012 | Published 08/22/2012

Question:

I have a Lund Grand Tyee 1950 50th Anniversary Special that is loaded onto an EZ-Loader bunk-style trailer. My wife can no longer go with me so I have to get it set up so one man can unload/load the boat. The bunks are 9foot long and angled so that the hull lays flat against the bunks when the boat is loaded. Will the DL21740 roller sets work with my boat or am I looking at a new trailer? And, it is not obvious from the photo how the DL21742 actually attaches those rollers to the bunks...

Expert Reply:

You can add roller bunks to your trailer. The roller bunks # DL21741 can bolt flat against the bunks you already have. The brackets are not needed unless you want to remove the bunks you have and put the rollers in their place. Then the brackets that held the original bunks would be where you would bolt the new brackets to, # DL21742.

The brackets have an L-shape hook at the top with a hole in the middle. The bottom of the bunks have holes in them and you would bolt the bottom of the bunk to that L-shaped bracket (hardware not included).

The slotted holes are used to adjust the height of the bracket and then you bolt them to the existing bunks or bunk brackets.
