Are Cross Bars Required To Use Thule Outbound Rooftop Bag On My 2000 Honda Odyssey

I have a 2000 Honda Odessey with factory installed roof rack with only side rails. Do I need cross bars to use this product? Thank you

The Thule Rooftop Bag, # TH868, could be used without crossbars but due to the size and carrying capacity of the rooftop bag cross bars are strongly recommended. When the bag is secured to the roof rack of your vehicle it will be subject to the stress of acceleration and braking while you are driving and the cross bars will help hold the bag in position. You can attach it to the side rails as long as they are raised enough to be able to wrap something around it. If you choose this method, I suggest a roof Protections pad # RL100650.

If you choose to add a rack and basket, We have the Evo Raised Rail Feet # TH710401 and 53" WingBar Evo Crossbars # TH711420, the Thule Canyon XT Basket # TH859XT, and locks # TH450400, for your 2000 Honda Odyssey which would work well for tying the rooftop bag down.
