Static Weight Capacity For A 2021 GMC Yukon AT4

Question:
Hi, We purchased a roof top tent that weighs 154 pounds. Our cross bars for our vehicle has a load of 220 pounds. When you add gear and our weight we need another 300 or so pounds. What is our best option for a roof rack that will hold the tent and our weight? Would the rhino rack on our cross bars help distribute the weight? We have a 2021 Yukon AT4. Thanks for your help.

The Roof Rack System on your 2021 Yukon AT4 has a dynamic weight capacity of 220lbs. Dynamic weight capacity is the amount of weight it can handle in motion. So it can handle the roof top tent # TH8001KSK05 you have no problem. What you need to find out is the Static Weight Capacity (capacity when parked). This is usually found in the owners manual of your vehicle. Confirm with your owners manual, but your roof should have a Static Weight Capacity of 600lbs.
