Question:
Hi, I recently purchased a new camper that our 2016 Honda Pilot will pull. The camper has an empty weight of 2500 lbs and I anticipate loaded will be closer to 3000 lbs. A batter and propane tank are mounted on the tongue. The Pilot is rated for 5000 lbs and 500 lbs tongue weight. We will have gear, food, etc in the rear of the pilot and 2 bikes on the roof of the car. The camper dealer installed an E2 Anti-Sway Trunnion 1,200 lbs 12,000 lbs system. I drove the camper home empty with the new system and it seemed to work fine. My question is whether the 1,200 lbs - 12,000 lbs system is too much for my setup. I do not mind if it is a bit more than I need, I just want to be sure it is not a problem. I have attached a picture. Thanks

A 1,200 lb tongue weight weight distribution like the Fastway part # FA92-00-1200 is going to have a tongue weight range that's much too high for your towing setup as this has a range of 800 to 1,200. You'll likely have a very harsh ride which could potentially stress the hitch on your Pilot. Ideally you'd swap to the bar set part # FA92-01-0899 and you'd have a much more comfortable and safer setup as this has a tongue weight range of 400-800 lb. Or if you can return your setup go with the # FA92-00-0800 instead.
