Question:

I have a 2019 Tacoma with the tow package that includes a 7 way connector. On the cover of the connector it shows one of the pins is for an electric brake. Does this mean I do not have to install an aftermarket electric brake system as it is already installed directly from the factory?

Your 2019 Toyota Tacoma does not have a factory brake controller installed currently but since you have a factory 7-way already installing the controller will be fairly simple. A controller like our really popular and great performing BRAKE-EVN part # TK63VR only would need the install harness # 3031-P to plug in to the connector under the dash of the truck.

The absolute easiest solution though is the Curt Echo part # C51180 which just plugs into an active 7-way like you have and once synced to your smart phone is totally ready to tow.
