Install Video Guide for Trailer Wiring on 2008 BMW X5

Question:

After installing this wiring harness into a 2008 BMW X5 all of the trailer lights work with the exception of when I activate the right turn blinker then both trailer lights flash. I have tested this on different trailers so I am certain the issue is in the vehicle. I checked the ground which is correct but the only thing I do not know is if the terminal marked STOPinch needed to be hooked into the vehicles system which it is currently. It appears that this vehicle does not have a two wire system as per the instructions. Thank you for your assistance.

We had the chance to install the ZCI kit part # 119250KIT on a similar 2013 BMW X5 as your 2008 model that I attached an install video for you to check out. The 2008 X5 and 2013 X5 are the same generation so the install video would show you the exact process as your vehicle.

What I would do is go over the video link I attached to this page and compare it to the install you did on your vehicle to see if you can find anything that may have been wired wrong.
