Question:
I’m purchasing a Rockwood Mini lite 2104s2019. I was going to use my oldexistingWD hitch which is rated at 600hitch weight and 6000lb. Gross weight. The trailer weighs 4800lbs with a 560lb hitch capacity. Will I be cutting it too close? The total GVWR is right around 6000lbs. But I can’t ever see loading it that much.Thanks. The Wd in a chain type

While you may be able to get away with your current WD hitch, when you start adding in gear like dishes, food, clothes, TVs and water (the heaviest) you may be pushing the limits of it. These WD hitches have a small margin of error built in to them, so as long as you're close to the limit and not over, you will be able to safely pull the Rockwood Mini-Lite 2104s.
The best way to test what your trailer tongue weight actually is when fully loaded is with a tongue weight scale like the etrailer # e99044 ; when doing this, make sure you're fully loaded as you would getting ready to go on a trip. Your tongue weight is going to typically be 10-15% of the total weight of the trailer; you also have to factor in any added weight behind the rear axle of the tow vehicle. So if you carry any cargo in the truck bed, this needs to be included in the tongue weight.
If you want to give yourself some peace of mind in knowing that your WD hitch is up to the task, I recommend upgrading to something like the Fastway E2 # FA92-00-0800 which has an 800lb tongue weight/8000-lb towing weight capacity- which will be more than enough for your new camper. This hitch offers 2 point sway control to prevent and correct sway while distributing the weight of the trailer over the axles of the tow vehicle and trailer. The bracket system is going to do a bit better job at sway control than your current chain style WD system, which is going to help keep the trailer in line more-so than your chains.
