Will stock running boards off of a 2017 Chevy Silverado fit in to a 2008 GMC Sierra? Thanks in advance .

There was a large enough generation change between those two trucks that a fit from one would not fit the other. The Westin set part # 23-1955 that you referenced does fit the 2008 GMC Sierra as long as it's a crew cab.

For your 2017 Chevy Silverado 1500 the Prodigy P3 part #90195 would be an excellent option for a brake controller that is confirmed as a fit. All you need is the correct install harness, part #3016.
